Nissan Resonance [w/Gallery]

Nissan's Resonance concept has made its world debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The Resonance concept, created by Nissan Design America under the direction of senior vice president and chief creative officer Shiro Nakamura, features the ‘V-Motion', which starts from the tinted acrylic front grille with Satin Chrome accents and moves through the hood, framed by the boomerang-shaped headlamps.

A sharp character line feeds from the headlamps above the pronounced wheelarches before dipping and then flicking upwards into the rear lamps. This line highlights the curvature of the surface along with the wedge-shaped rocker. Thin, steeply raked A-pillars, a large full-length glass panel and flowing D-pillars give the appearance of the ‘floating' roof.

Inside, the designers worked around the idea of what first-class space travel will be like in the future. Features such as sequential welcome lighting are designed to emphasize the cabin's natural wood pattern.

The sculpted door panels and depth of the center console are designed to accentuate the cabin's spaciousness, while the instrument panel sits on a large console and integrates all the infotainment and communication features, which are graphically layered to give a holographic experience. The holograms are placed at different depths, giving priority to important information.
